With authentic buffalo dung walls, Camp Shawu paints a picture of the ‘olde Africa’ described by the explorers of yesteryear. Private decks overlooking the Mpanamana Dam, present a landscape that is classically African.
Camp Shawu is situated in a 150 square kilometre private concession in the south-eastern section of the world-renowned Kruger National Park. Only 10 guests are accommodates, in large rooms, all of which overlook the Mpanamana dam. All are luxuriously equipped with romantic ball and claw bath, mini bar, sitting area facing open fireplace, ceiling fans and outside shower. A large veranda with reclining chairs and umbrella is the perfect spot from which to watch the game come down to drink.
The central Lodge area boasts a lounge, indoor and outdoor dining area as well as a new splash pool.
Guests can enjoy daily game drives in open Safari vehicles, in the early morning, and late afternoon at Camp Shawu. In addition, there is excellent birding, and game walks are also available.
Children of all ages are welcome at the Lodge, and child-care is available upon request. In the interest of safety, children under 6 years are unfortunately not allowed on game drives and only those over the age of 12 years are permitted on game walks.
