Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge is beautifully situated on the edge of one of Sabi Sands largest Lakes. The magnificent bar and lounge area melt into the surrounding trees, rendering you invisible to the game gathering on the open plain in the cool of the evening.
Accommodation is in 10 luxury chalets, all carefully hidden among the lush gardens. The chalets have en-suite bathrooms, a restful lounge area, and a private patio. All rooms are equipped with modern comforts including air conditioning, overhead fans, mosquito netting, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone, hair dryer, and bathroom amenities.
Chitwa Chitwa Game Lodge offers a combination of different room types. There are Safari Standard rooms, a family room, Game Standard rooms, 2 Luxury Suites, and the Boulders Suite. Both the standard and luxury chalets and the relaxing pool and sundeck enjoy superb views of the lake, where the water runs cool and clear. The family room offers two separate bedrooms, and two bathrooms, and is ideal for couples with 2 children. The Family room has a view of the lake from its private patio. The most extravagant of the chalets is Boulders, the honey moon suite, which has its own private plunge pool and stunning view of the lake from their exclusive patio.
Birdlife around all the chalets is prolific, and it is not unusual to see curious tree squirrels, or Bushbuck come right up to the rooms in search of juicy green leaves.
Meals are a delight, with an intriguing combination of African and Mediterranean dishes, accompanied by select wines from an extensive cellar. Lunch is served next to the pool in the thatched Lapa, while dinner is enjoyed in the open-air Boma, or in the elegant dining room.
Guests can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, learning about the area, and its wildlife. Not only are the Big Five around (leopard, lion, buffalo, elephant and rhinoceros), but you also get the chance to see cheetah, hyena, wild dog, zebra, wildebeest, baboon and antelope.
