River Lodge Accommodation
River Lodge sits under the shade of a grove of ebony trees, on the edge of the seasonal Sand River, and guests enjoy and area of some 10 000 hectares in which to look for wildlife.
Eight luxury suites are spread out along the shady River bank. Accommodation is spacious, and air-conditioned, and you also can make use of a private plunge pool, with deck. There are elegant en suite bathrooms with twin hand basins, separate toilet, bath, indoor and outdoor showers.
The Lodge’s lounge and dining areas are positioned to allow excellent views of the seasonal Sand River. In addition, a giant sausage tree provided shade for relaxed lunches. Delicious and varied dinners are enjoyed in the open-air Boma, each meal complimented by excellent local wines. Guests can also have private dinners on the deck.
Game viewing is done in open 4x4 safari vehicles, in the early morning, and afternoon/ evening. On these drives you get to learn about the bush, and its inhabitants, in the company of an expert guide and tracker. In addition, there are guided, interpretive bush walks, and some excellent birding.
