Kirkman's Kamp Accommodation

Kirkman's Kamp, which enjoys wonderful views of the wilderness surrounding the Sand River, has quite a history, as the original camp was built in the 1920’s.

The camp has a colonial atmosphere, and accommodation is in 18 cottages, all with private verandas. Accommodation is all en-suite, and air-conditioned.

The original homestead is now used at the lounge, dining and bar areas for the Lodge. The large lounge has access, through French windows, onto rolling lawns. Guests enjoy breakfast and lunch on the shady verandas, while dinners are taken in the open-air Boma, or in a romantic bush setting.

You can also enjoy the use of a swimming pool, for those hot afternoons.

Activities centre on early morning and afternoon game drives, where there is the chance to see some of the magnificent wildlife for which the area is justly famous – including the elusive leopard. There is more than just game viewing, as you get to learn about the area itself. In addition, there is the excitement of a guided interpretive bush walk – a wonderful way to learn about the flora and fauna.
